池袋西口公園GLOBALRING CAFE

池袋西口公園内に計画したカフェである。この頃から建物への木材活用が盛んに推奨されたが、東京都心はほぼ防火地域に指定されており、特に公共施設で木造を実現した事例は殆どなかった。そこで、面積を１００㎡未満に設定することで、燃え代設計での準耐火構造で木造を実現し、東京の中心部での木造空間を実現した。面積が小さい分、階高は思い切って確保して、客席は舞台の客席同様、公園にはみ出している。そのはみ出した席からは演劇を鑑賞することも可能だ。季節のいい時期にはビールを飲みながら、冬はホットワインを飲みながら、観劇をすることも可能である。

This café was planned in Ikebukuro Nishiguchi Park.Since that time, the use of wood in buildings has been actively encouraged, but the central Tokyo area is almost exclusively designated as a fire zone, and there were few examples of wooden structures being realized, especially in public facilities.Therefore, by setting the area of the building to less than 100 m2, we realized a wooden structure with a quasi-fireproof structure based on a burnout design, thereby realizing a wooden space in the center of Tokyo.Because of the small area, the floor height was drastically secured, and the seating, like the stage seating, extends out into the park.From the overhanging seats, it is possible to watch a theater performance.In good season, it is possible to watch a play with a beer, and in winter, with a glass of hot wine.
